Sadie Stull

Sadie Stull (she/her) brings decades of hands-on building experience to her teaching, grounded in a life spent working with real materials, real people, and real places. For most of her adult life she worked as a carpentry contractor, running her own business and collaborating with a wide range of crews and community projects. Her path has included years with Habitat for Humanity, leadership as Director of Western Mass Women in the Trades, and even an apprenticeship with a Japanese Shinto shrine builder, where she deepened her love of traditional timber framing and hand tools. Sadie is especially drawn to old-fashioned, elegant solutions—ways of building that are practical, durable, and deeply human.

Beyond carpentry, Sadie is a natural educator and community builder. She loves empowering women+ to feel confident and capable with tools, and has taught everything from women-only volunteer builds to chainsaw workshops, greenhouse construction, and outdoor and survival skills. Her curiosity about how we live and work together has also led her into extensive training in conflict resolution and group dynamics. Based on her homestead in western Massachusetts, Sadie serves on the board of Ravenwood Freedom Farm & Learning Center, a nonprofit she started 25 years ago—continuing her long-standing commitment to learning, land, and shared work that feels both grounded and possible.
